Vorfreude is a small brand that you can find on Amazon. In fact, that’s the only place where you can find their spray mops (they don’t seem to sell anything else). Do note, however, that it’s sold by a third-party (i.e. it’s not an official store).

Product Description

The Vorfreude Spray Mop can be used to clean laminate, cement, vinyl, ceramic, or hardwood floors. Easy to use, it comes with an ergonomic trigger, which you can press to dispense cleaning solution onto the floor. The mop head also swivels for easy access to corners and edges. The best part? You can use it with pretty much any cleaner, including plain water. Just add it to the tank and away you go. There’s no need to buy refills either as the mop pad is reusable—up to 1000 times!

Assembly: Attach the pole pieces together so that the handle is on the top. Insert the water tank so that it’s fitted at the bottom and put on the mop head. Finally, attach the mop pad—there are velcro-like strips on the base, which will keep it secure.

The Vorfreude floor mop consists of three main parts—the mop head, water bottle, and handle. Unlike other models, however, the handle isn’t adjustable. The mop head does swivel, though, for your convenience.

And the kit does come with one mop pad to get you started. Made of microfiber, it’s soft, absorbent, and great at picking up dirt. If you want, you can even use it dry! When you’re finished, just toss it in the washing machine (or wash it by hand) and it’ll be ready for next time.

Last but not least, it comes with a refillable water bottle. Located at the bottom of the mop, it can hold up to 700ml of cleaning solution (e.g. commercial cleaner, home cleaners, plain water). Just remember not to use boiling water as it can damage the plastic material.

Build Quality

There are a few things that you want to look for when you’re shopping for a mop. First off, it should have a metal handle (preferably one made of aluminum or stainless steel); that will ensure that it won’t break after a few uses. Also, pay attention to the quality of the plastic. Does it seem thin or fragile? If so, it might be better to pass on the item. The last thing that you want is to spend money on something that will come apart after a few days!

How Well Built Is the Vorfreude Spray Mop?

The Vorfreude is your typical mop. The handle is made of metal while the top and bottom are made of plastic and that includes the water bottle, which sits at the base. It’s worth noting, however, that the plastic is BPA-free so there’s that.

As for the microfiber pad, it’s soft, absorbent, and a decent size (42cm x 14cm). It also holds up well in the wash as long as you air dry it aka don’t toss it in the dryer!

Lifetime Warranty: The company offers a lifetime warranty. If anything happens to the spray mop, you can contact them to get a free replacement.

Lightweight: The Vorfreude Spray Mop is very lightweight, which makes cleaning the floor quick and easy. For one thing, you won’t have to lug it up the stairs if you live in a multi-leveled home.

Swivel Head: The swivel head makes it easy to fit into hard-to-reach places such as corners. You also won’t have to worry about it flipping, which seems to be a common problem with these types of mop heads.

You Can Use Your Own Cleaning Solution: One of the great things about the Vorfreude is that you can use your own cleaning solution. If you want to, you can even make your own with water and white vinegar (it’s a great chemical-free alternative). There’s no need to buy a specific product like the Swiffer.

A Few Drawbacks

Here are a few things to know about the Vorfreude Spray Mop

The Bottom Part Can Snap

The spray mop is bottom-heavy with the water tank at the bottom. Over time, the joint connecting the handle to the mop head will become stressed, especially if you’re applying downward pressure. So don’t be surprised if it snaps and breaks one day because it’s apparently happened to many people.

The Water Tank Is Difficult to Remove

The water tank isn’t the easiest to remove from the mop base. You have to grip and pull it from the top. For this reason, we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with hand or wrist issues (e.g. arthritis).

Not Meant For Scrubbing

The handle is a bit flimsy; you won’t be able to apply any pressure through the mop for stuck-on stains. In other words, don’t expect to scrub away any messes—you won’t be able to do that with this spray mop.

Water Bottle Can Leak 

The water bottle isn’t very durable. After a while, it will leak. In fact, it’s one of the most common complaints. To make matters worse, the bottle isn’t covered under their lifetime warranty so you can’t get it replaced for free if anything happens.

Below Average Customer Service

The company offers a lifetime warranty, which is great, but the process of claiming a replacement can be difficult. For one thing, it’s not easy to reach them from Amazon (the email that’s provided will give you an error when you try to send a message).

Sprayer Doesn’t Work Very Well

The sprayer is very erratic. Sometimes, it’ll shoot in front of you and sometimes it’ll spray everywhere. Also, it’s not very durable. Many people have had issues where it stopped working altogether after a while and it’s not exactly something that you can fix easily.

No Instructions Included

The kit doesn’t come with any detailed instructions. There are simple diagrams on the box but that’s it. The good news is that you can always search up a video if you need help assembling it.

How Well Does It Clean?

The Vorfreude is a decent mop for light cleaning. It’s easy to maneuver and the swivel head makes things a lot more convenient. Like we said earlier, though, you won’t be able to scrub with it. Also, it only comes with one microfiber pad so you will have to rinse it out often. Or better yet, get some extras. It doesn’t even have to be from the same brand—as long as it’s the same size, you’ll be able to use it with the mop head.
