Tangkula 5 Pack Microfiber Mop Pad Review

As tedious as it might be, it is important to keep the house tidy and clean. For one thing, too much dust and debris can affect our health; pests can also be a problem. Fortunately, there are many tools out there such as vacuum cleaners that can help with cleaning. If you have hard floors (e.g. tile, hardwood, vinyl, linoleum, etc.), mops are also a good option. Made out of soft, absorbent materials, they do a wonderful job of getting rid of grime—especially when used with some sort of cleaning solution. Not only the floor, but most can be used for other surfaces such as walls and ceilings as well! If anything, they are highly versatile.

You probably know this already, but mops come in various forms. For instance, some are capable of spraying cleaner to the floor; others are more simplistic in that they only consist of a handle and head. If you wanted to get really fancy, some even come with a vacuum as a 2-in-1 system! Despite their differences in design, they are meant to do the same thing—that is, to mop up dirt and other debris.

In recent years, however, microfiber mops seem to have exploded in popularity. One of the more affordable options, they are unique in that they are specially designed to grip onto small particles. While it depends on the exact model, most are made so that you attach a “new” mop pad to the end every time you clean. As far as these pads go, there are two types—disposable and reusable; the former is meant to be thrown in the trash after you’re done, whereas the latter can be washed again and again. While they are priced similarly, more and more people are going for the reusable variety.

Reasons Why You Should Use Reusable Mop Pads

  • Disposable pads are wasteful and are bad for the environment (i.e. they go into landfills)
  • Disposable pare are more expensive in the long run
  • Reusable mop pads clean easily in the wash
  • Reusable mop pads can generally thicker, and more absorbent
  • Reusable mop pads can be rinsed with water when you’re mopping

Today, we will be taking a look at a particular brand of reusable mop pads. More specifically, we will be reviewing the Microfiber Mop Pads by Tangkula. How are they compared to some of the other ones out there? How effective are they at trapping particles? What types of mop can you use it with? These are all things that we will be going over in our post.

Tangkula Microfiber Mop Pads (Pack of 5)

Tangkula sells a variety of products on Amazon. Aside from mop pads, they also sell computer desks, portable heaters, dog houses, laboratory equipment, golf carts, tents, and more. As far as we can tell, though, they do not have an official website. For now, their items are only available for purchase on Amazon.

The Tangkula mop pads are specially designed for microfiber mops—this means that they can be used on almost all hard surfaces including ceilings and walls. Constructed out of premium material, they feature a square-edged design, which allows them to reach deep into cracks and crevices. Ultimately, this means that they are capable of picking up more dirt than other cleaning pads. Incredibly soft, you won’t have to worry about it ever scratching your floor. Reusable, you can just drop it in the laundry when you’re done cleaning.

Size: 16 1/2”x 5 3/5”

Material: Microfiber

Build Quality

The Tangkula Mop Pads are a little thicker than standard cleaning pads. Considering that, it’s not surprising to know that they are also absorbent. Don’t worry, though—they are easy to wring out. Size-wise, they are also on the big side; this makes it easier to reach corners and edges. Generally speaking, the pads also hold up well in the wash.

The only thing that you should know is that they will shrink in the dryer. For this reason, they should be hung dry. Depending on what you’re used to, you might also find that the material is a bit stiff. Luckily, it gets softer as you use it.

Note: These microfiber pads can be used with any mop that has a velcro bottom. If you want, you can also add your own velcro strips to the material.

Does it Clean Well?

The Tangkula Mop Pads are great for wet mopping. Seeing as how durable they are, you can use them for both regular cleanings and for scrubbing tough spots. Highly absorbent, they are capable of holding a significant amount of liquid, which makes mopping that much easier. As mentioned earlier, the material is also soft enough so that you can easily wring out the excess water. If your mop has an extendable handle, you can also use it for cleaning the ceiling.

Note: For the best results, you will want to use some type of cleaning formula with the pads—just make sure that it’s safe for your floors! If you want, you can also make your own water and vinegar mixture.

Of course, the mop pads can also be used for dusting. After all, the tiny fibers naturally grab onto small particles. Given how soft the microfiber is, you won’t have to worry about it leaving any scratches.

Cost and Price Information

The Tangkula Microfiber Mop Pads is perhaps one of the cheapest options out there. At the time of this writing, you can get a five-pack for around $7, which works out to be around $1.40 each. To give you a better idea of where it stands price-wise, most mop pads go for around $5 each. For now, they are only available for purchase on Amazon.

As cheap as they may be, however, there is a downside. According to some of the reviews on the site, shipping can take a while as the product comes from China (unfortunately, it is not available on Amazon Prime). If you don’t mind waiting a bit, though, you definitely get bang for your buck.
