Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set Review

Cleaning our homes is a daily task for most of us, and for those of us with hardwood, laminate or tiled floors to clean, that means we’re going to be needing a mop. There are a huge range of different types of mops on the market, but one that focuses on convenience and ease of use is the spin mop and bucket cleaning system.

Usually sold together with a bucket that contains an automatic wringing system, spin mop bucket systems always aim to make cleaning easier and eliminate the need for bending, and there are quite a few of them on the market. Today I’m going to be looking at the Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set to see how this particular model compares to rival products. How well is it made? How effective it is at cleaning a variety of surfaces? and most important of all, is it worth the cost? These are the questions that I hope to be able to provide answers for, so let’s get right into it.

The Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set by Hapinnex

Hapinnex are a bit of a mystery, with no company website and few details online. I eventually tracked them down as part of the Woodson Group based in Ontario, Canada. Woodson, who are also known as The Woodsam Group, are a company that imports goods, mainly from China, and sell them on the North American market. With a distribution center in Southern California where all American customers receive their orders from, the company does offer a reasonable level of customer service, at least on Amazon, and I’ll come to that a little later.

Build quality

All cleaning products are only as good as the materials they’re made from, and with mop handles there are two main choices. Aluminium is a cheaper and lighter alternative, but stainless steel is rust proof, stronger and also slightly heavier. The Hapinnex spin mop handle weighs in at four pounds, and it is fairly sturdy without being too heavy, but it also has the advantage of being long, with the latest version extended to five feet four inches, which should be enough for even six footers to use without too much bending. The handle rotates fully around all 360 degrees allowing you to clean under low furniture and hard to reach places, and my impression from video reviews of this product is that it is well made, reliable and durable.

The Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set also comes complete with two microfiber mop pads, our recommended pad type due to their superb liquid absorbency, and effectiveness with greasy stains and spills. The pads are machine washable and they spread out to a fairly large 12 inches, so they should be able to deal with larger floor areas reasonably quickly. The plastic insert that snaps onto the mop head is around 6 inches in diameter, so they can also squeeze into fairly tight spaces, and the pad snaps onto the head by pressing down on both sides, when it will sound a clearly audible click so you know it has slotted into place. The pad can be removed just as easily by standing on it and pulling the handle upwards.

The Bucket element of this cleaning system is recommended to be filled around half way, and the spinning wringer basket can be detached easily for easy cleaning, unlike other spin mop bucket systems. In order to utilize the automatic spin wringer, a sturdy plastic lever on the handle is unlocked, and by pressing the mop head down into the basket, it spins quickly and effectively. The spinning wringer basket is also stainless steel and therefore rust proof, and in several review videos I noticed that it not only spins fairly rapidly with little effort, but it also appears to be impressively frictionless, making it fairly simple to spin the mop pad completely dry. Another spinner is attached to the bucket at the bottom and it can be used to spin your mop within the water to clean it.

The bucket also has another feature that is lacking on most other spin mop bucket cleaning systems, namely that it balances perfectly when filled to the recommended half-full level. This also allows the mop to spin dry without touching the water in the bucket. A quick drain plug is also on the bottom of the bucket allowing it to be emptied without tipping it over, and overall my impression of all components in this cleaning system is that they are well made, durable and sturdy, however there are a few weaknesses that some reviewers of the system have reported.

Overall there are 493 customer reviews of the Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set on Amazon, with 82% of them being positive, with four or five stars. On the other side of the coin, 13% of reviews are negative, with only one or two stars, but having read through them all, it’s clear that some problems of the past have been improved on by Hapinnex. Some negative reviews from a year ago or longer concerned the weakness of the buckets handle, which has now been strengthened and improved with an easy to grip groove. Other complaints concerned the shortness of the handle, which originally came in only two parts and reached only 48 inches at a maximum, but both of these issues have now been solved by improvements to the system.

Most negative reviews had received a response from Hapinnex offering either advice, or a replacement product under a 90 day guarantee that is not mentioned elsewhere on Amazon. The seller also encouraged potential buyers to check the recent reviews, and having done so, they are almost entirely positive. One or two recent reviews stated that the product was ‘No good’, but they were a very small number, and no additional details were offered to support the negative view, however one or two negative reviews have brought up slight weaknesses a number of times, mainly concerning the quick drain plug on the bottom of the bucket.

It seems that the draining plug, which slots into place to seal it, rather than screwing in, can leak in a small number of cases, and although only a small number of reviewers experienced this problem, it was mentioned three or four times. One or two users also had assorted problems with various parts of the system, such as bent handles, or problems with the spinning mechanism, but they were all responded to by the seller, who often advised them to watch one of the several instructional videos online that explain how to use the system, and this appeared to solve most customers concerns. Videos showcasing the system can be found on both the Amazon page, as well as on Youtube.

Having reviewed several Spin mop and bucket cleaning systems, I was left with the strong impression that this is one of the sturdier, more durable and more reliable systems on the market. The lever that unlocks the mop for spinning is sturdy, the stainless steel components appear solid, and the added features of a self-balancing bucket and a basket that can be easily detached from the bucket are not present on the other systems I have reviewed, which include all of the other best selling systems.

So in summary, I would consider the Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop and Bucket Set to be a superior product compared to most other spin mop and bucket systems. It has several features not present on other systems, and many of the 80+% of positive reviewers had used it for periods of over a year with no reliability problems at all. The only repeated failure of the system was a potential weakness with the draining plug at the bottom of the bucket, which was experienced by only around 1% of the total reviewers.

Does it Clean Well?

So, considering this product is well made, how well does it actually clean? Well microfiber pads are our recommended type, and for kitchens and bathrooms, tiled areas, and hardwood floors they can achieve a great shine with no streaks and less effort than conventional mop pads. The two pads you receive with this set are fully washable, however one or two users did find them thinner than other pads, and potentially likely to scratch a floor if too much effort was exerted. Again this was an isolated complaint only repeated once or twice, but it is worth considering. Another point worth making is that Hapinnex assert the pads are washable, but do not state they are machine washable, unlike other makes of microfiber pads, so they should be washed by hand.

Several users remarked that the efficiency of the spin wringing system enabled them to both wet and dry clean with the same pad during the same clean, without having to change pads. The 12 inch diameter pads were large enough to clean bigger floor plans quickly and efficiently, and virtually all users with tiled floors, linoleum, hardwood and laminate floors found them more than equal to the task.

The system is durable for everyday household needs, but it is designed for personal use rather than commercial usage, so although I have been generally positive about this system, it may not be quite so durable if used for sustained heavy staining and ground in dirt. Although great with water spillages and greasy stains, oil spillages and industrial applications may be beyond the scope of this particular product.

With hairs and dust, I’d recommend using a vacuum or sweeping your floor before using this cleaner, as it is primarily for water spillages, and greasy stains. Several users with stone and marble floors also remarked that is was ideal for bringing up a good shine without too much effort. Finally a dual texture cleaning glove is added as a bonus to the system, with one side designed for heavily stained patches on hard surfaces, and the other side smooth, and perfect for cleaning glass surfaces and mirrors.

Overall the system works well for almost all household cleaning applications, and the efficiency of the mop wringing system should allow you to clean unsealed wooden floors and surfaces with a dry, or only slightly damp mop head, once you’ve used the highly efficient wringing system,

Cost & Pricing Information

So that’s the good news, this is a sturdy and well constructed spin mop and bucket system, with one or two useful features that you won’t find on rival systems, but of course you’re going to have to pay for it. Several other spin mop and bucket cleaning systems sell for around the $30 mark, but the Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set will cost you $49.99. It’s not the cheapest system available, but it does in my opinion offer more durability and convenience.

Hapinnex offer a three pack of microfiber replacement mop heads for $9.99, The replacement mop pads are stated as being unsuitable for machine washing due to the plastic insert in the center, however several users of the pads that come with the original pack have reported machine washing them several times with no issues. Hapinnex only describe the original pads as washable, rather than machine washable, and overall most users did find that the mop heads can be easily cleaned with warm, soapy water, and this is probably advisable in order to extend their lifetime. Many users reported that they were still fully functional after more than a year of regular use.

All in all, the Hapinnex Spin Wringer Mop Bucket Set does cost $50 compared to the $30 price tag of rival systems, but it does appear to be more sturdy and substantial than other similar products. One or two minor problems have been reported by users, but Hapinnex appear to respond to negative reviews quickly offering a solution, and a large majority of users report being entirely happy with their purchase. If you’re looking for a more durable alternative to other spin mop and bucket cleaning systems, and are prepared to pay a little extra, this is likely to be the product for you.
