Regular mopping is the best way to prevent pollen, dust, and pet dander from accumulating on the floor. Not only will it be better for your health, but it’ll also keep your floor looking its best (i.e. there won’t be any debris that can cause tiny scratches).
How often should you do it? It depends. For high-traffic areas like kitchens, hallways, and bathrooms, weekly mopping is recommended. However, you may want to clean more frequently if you have pets as they can track dirt and other allergens into the house.
Not a fan of mopping? You can always get an electric mop. Instead of doing the work yourself, all you have to do is press a button. The mop pads will start to spin and it’ll clean the floors for you. You just have to apply a cleaner.
Interested in getting an electric mop but don’t want to have to buy a separate machine? There’s always the option of getting an electric mop head attachment. Just attach it to your vacuum and it’ll turn it into an electric mop!
They’re not that expensive either. Take the Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment, for example, it goes for approx. $60, which is a lot cheaper than getting a separate electric mop. How does it work? What are some of its features? Find out by reading our review!
The Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment
Funteck is one of the many brands that you can find on Amazon. Aside from mop head attachments, they also sell hose kits, grafting tools, phone chargers, paint sprayer hoses, and more. As far as we can tell, that’s the only place where you can find their products. They do not have an official website.
The Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment is designed to be used with the Dyson vacuum cleaner. More specifically, it’s compatible with the V7/V8/V10/V11 models. Just attach it to the bottom and it’ll turn your device into a vacuum-mop hybrid. Not only will it remove debris from the floor, but the mop pads will also wipe the surface, giving it a thorough clean. It’s not that loud either so you won’t have to worry about unnecessary noise. It can be used on hardwood, marble, tile, vinyl, and other types of hard floors.
What’s In the Box?
- 1 Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment
- 6 Microfiber Mopping Pads
Attaching It To Your Dyson Vacuum: Attach the mop pads before inserting the bottom of the stick vacuum into the top of the attachment—it should click into place. From there, turn on your vacuum and the pads will start spinning.
The mop head attachment features a low profile, which allows it to clean underneath beds, sofas, and other furniture. It also covers a large surface area for maximum efficiency (it measures 11” x 2.4”). For those who are wondering, there is an opening at the center of the attachment for debris to enter the vacuum (that’s how it acts as a 2-in-1).
It also comes with six mop pads. To attach them, align the pads with the circular base at the bottom of the attachment. Press down gently and they will stay in place.
Note: The electric mop head attachment is just an attachment; it does not come with a water container or tank. In other words, you’ll have to manually wet the pads yourself. We recommend using a spray bottle filled with a cleaning solution. With that said, you can also use it dry to polish your floors.
It’s important to note that the Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment is not a Dyson OEM product. It’s made by a third party so the quality won’t be the same as actual Dyson attachments. With that said, it’s fairly well made. The plastic isn’t super thin and the aesthetic matches that of a Dyson. If anything, you won’t be able to tell that it’s anything different.
The white mop pads are also a good thickness. They’re soft, absorbent, and won’t damage your floors. Seeing as how they’re made of microfiber fabric, you can also throw them in the washer when you’re done. Just don’t put them in the dryer—the heat can cause the fabric to shrink and if that happens, they won’t fit on the attachment properly anymore.
Pros of the Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment
Affordable: The attachment is affordable. Instead of having to spend a couple of hundred dollars on an electrical mop, you can get this attachment for <$100. It might not be as ‘powerful’ as an actual unit but it’ll get the job done.
Convenient to Use: The mop head attachment is super convenient to use. Just attach it to your Dyson vacuum when you want to mop and you’re ready to go.
Small and Compact: The attachment is small and compact aka it won’t take up much space storage-wise. This makes it a good option for those who want an electric mop but live in a small space.
Reusable Pads: The mop pads are reusable. In other words, you won’t have to keep buying refills, which will save you money in the long run.
Two-in-One: Just because you’re using the mop head attachment doesn’t mean that you won’t get any suction. If anything, it’ll turn your Dyson into a vacuum and mop all-in-one.
Versatile: The attachment isn’t just for wet mopping. You can also use it to polish the floor. You just have to make sure to use it with the right kind of polisher.
A Few Drawbacks
The attachment does have a few flaws, which we’ll be going over below.
Lack of Instructions
The product doesn’t come with any instructions. Even the writing on the box is in Chinese. The good news is that setup is relatively straightforward so you’ll be able to figure it out even without an instruction manual.
Excess Strain On the Motor
The mop pads get quite heavy when they’re wet. Depending on how often you use it, the excess torque may put extra strain on the motor, which may shorten the life of the Dyson vacuum.
The attachment can drain the battery due to the heaviness of the pads. Don’t expect to be able to clean an entire room—you will have to recharge it before that happens.
No Water Tank
We mentioned this earlier but the attachment is just an attachment; there’s no water tank like an actual electric mop. In other words, you have to manually wet the pads and floor yourself with a spray bottle. Some people might find this to be a hassle.
Not Meant For Spills
This particular attachment is not meant for spills. The pads will ‘mop’ away the liquid as they spin but the unit itself won’t suck away the water (the vacuum only works for solid particles).
Pads Aren’t Super Efficient
You have to place the pads properly on the mop head, otherwise, they can brush against each other, which isn’t what you want when you’re trying to clean the floor. Keep in mind, however, that they don’t spin that much even with proper alignment. They’ll work, but you’ll probably want more power if you’re dealing with big stains or messes.
Water Can Get Inside
Water can get inside the vacuum if you’re not careful and that can damage the motor over time.
How Well Does It Clean?
The attachment is decent for small cleanups. It won’t get rid of sticky messes, however, it will get rid of dust, dirt, and other small particles when used with the right cleaner. It’s also great for buffing and polishing the floor.
The vacuum, however, won’t work as well if you have the attachment on. Debris will still be sucked up but it won’t be nearly as efficient. For one thing, small particles can occlude the vacuum due its design.
Who Would We Recommend the Product To?
- People who already have a Dyson Stick Vacuum Cleaner
- People who don’t want to pay extra for a separate mop
- People who are looking for an affordable mopping option
Cost and Pricing Information
The Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment normally goes for $54.99. As of this post, however, it’s on sale for $49.99 plus taxes, which makes it one of the more affordable options (most mop head attachments go for >$50). And like most things on Amazon, it comes with free shipping so there won’t be any extra fees.
Mop pad replacements are also available for purchase from their online store. They come four in a pack and go for $16.99 per pack. If you do the math, that works out to a little over $4 each.

It can put extra strain on the vacuum's motor
The Funteck Electric Mop Head Attachment is a good option for those who already own a Dyson stick vacuum. Just attach it to the bottom and it’ll turn into a vacuum-mop two-in-one. Not only is it small and compact, but it’s also versatile in that you can use it both wet and dry. As with most non-OEM parts, however, it can put extra strain on the vacuum’s motor. On top of that, it can drain the battery. For its price, however, it’s a good alternative to an electric mop.
