AIPER Steam Mop Review
Steam cleaning is great for several reasons. First off, you won’t have to use any chemicals—after all, all you need is water! What’s more, is that it can kill up to 99% of germs when used correctly. In other words, it’s an effective, all-natural way to clean the house. Given that, it’s not surprising to know that there are many steam cleaning tools out there.
Take steam mops, for example, they’re one of the best things that you can use to clean and sanitize the floor with. The best part? They’re not all that expensive. You can easily get one for less than $200. Here’s a tip—make sure to vacuum the area before taking out the mop. That way, you won’t have to worry about scratching the floor with the mop pad because yes, that can happen.
Interested in investing in one of these machines? How about the one by AIPER? Because that’s the one that we’ll be reviewing in this post. How many steam settings does it come with? The AIPER Steam Mop Review
AIPER isn’t a major brand. In fact, it’s something that you can only find on Amazon. What else do they seem besides steam mops? Solar panels, pool cleaners, air purifiers, weed trimmers, and more. From the looks of it, however, their mop seems to be one of their most popular product. For one thing, it has over 140 positive reviews on the site! It’s also worth mentioning that they do offer a 12-month warranty for their products. Not only that, but their mops are eligible for replacements within 30 days if there are any issues.
The AIPER Steam Mop is a powerful machine that allows for chemical-free cleaning. Simply add tap water and you’ll be able to remove tough, sticky messes easily with the power of steam. Suitable for most sealed floors, you can use it on hardwood, laminate, porcelain tile, linoleum, even carpet. The handle is extendable as well so you can adjust its length based on your height. That way, you won’t have to bend over unnecessarily, which can hurt your back. Plus, the mop head is washable and reusable. Just toss it in the washing machine after cleaning!
What’s Included?
The AIPER steam mop comes with a number of things, including:
- 1 Steam Mop
- 2 Microfiber Soft Pads
- 1 Measuring Cup
- 1 Carpet Glider
- 1 Instruction Manual
Assembly: First things first, you want to attach the metal pole to the top of the steam cleaner. From there, you can stick on one of the microfiber pads. All that’s left then is to fill the water tank with water and away you go!
First off, there’s the main body. And like most steam mops, the water reservoir is incorporated into the unit. In other words, you can’t remove it and fill it up at the sink. Instead, you have to pour water directly into the tank. To do that, flip up the lid that’s on the top; there will be a hole. The good news is that they do provide you with a measuring cup so you won’t have to worry about spilling the liquid.
Then there are the mop heads—you’ll get two of them. Triangular in shape, these microfiber cloths are capable of picking up dirt and debris without damaging your floor. As for how to put them on, you roll them up onto the base; there are no velcro strips.
Finally, there’s the carpet glider. Basically, it’s an accessory that you can use that’ll let you use the steam mop on carpet. All you have to do is clip it onto the base and you’ll be able to slide it on rugs, etc.
Build Quality of the AIPER Steam Mop
You’ll probably be using your mop quite often. Given that, it only makes sense that you’d want something durable—something that won’t break after a couple of cleaning sessions. And we’ve got a tip for you. Generally speaking, it’s always better to get something with a metal handle as opposed to plastic; it will last much longer.
And as it turns out, the AIPER steam mop does have a metal handle. In fact, it’s even adjustable. Simply turn the clamp in the center to adjust its length. The rest of the machine, however, is mainly plastic, which makes it more lightweight. At the same time, it also means that you don’t want to handle it roughly. After all, plastic can and will crack and break.
As for the microfiber pads, they’re of decent quality. They’re not the thickest, however, they’re not the thinnest either. And like we said earlier, they’re machine washable so you can clean them easily after mopping. Because trust me, they will turn grey after a while—and that’s a good thing. It means that it’s actually removing the dirt and grime that’s on your floors!
Potential Drawbacks
Here are some of the most common issues that people have run into with the AIPER steam mop.
There’s No On/Off Button
Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an on/off button. In other words, the only way to turn it off is to pull the plug; there’s no way to put it on “hold” if you want to do something else first. It’s not a big deal per se, but it can be annoying for some people.
The Lid Comes Off Easily
Like we said earlier, the water tank is incorporated into the main body. To fill it up, you have to open up the lid on the top and while there’s no problem with that, you want to be careful as the lid tends to come off quite easily.
It Can Be Harder to Use On Carpet
You can use the steam mop on carpet as long as you use the glider. Keep in mind, however, that it can be harder to push due to resistance. It’s also important that you attach the glider after the appliance has cooled down, otherwise, you can hurt yourself.
There’s Only One Steam Setting
Unlike other steam mops, this one only has one steam setting. That is, you can’t control the power of the steam. And depending on what you’re used to, you might find the steam to be a little lacking. Remember, it’ll start to heat up as soon as you plug it in.
The Pads Can Fall Off
The way the mop is designed, there are no velcro strips to hold the mop pad in place. Because of that, it has a tendency of folding up or falling off, which as you can imagine, can be frustrating. Unfortunately, there’s no remedy to this problem—you’ll have to manually put it back in place each time.
It Can Leave Your Floors A Bit Wet
The steam mop will likely leave your floors a bit wet. Considering that, you’ll want to have a towel on hand—that way, you can wipe off the excess moisture. Not only is it a slipping hazard, but depending on the type of floor that you have, the water can actually cause damage. Just something to keep in mind.
Does It Clean Well?
Assuming that you’re using it on hard floors, the AIPER steam mop does work pretty well. While there’s only one steam setting, the water vapor that comes out is hot enough to clean and sanitize. The swivel head also makes it easy to get underneath furniture and around corners. Just keep in mind, however, that the mop head can roll up or slide off. Debris such as pet hair or dust can also get stuck on the microfiber cloth so you might have to rinse it out a few times while you’re cleaning.
Tip: It’s always a good idea to get out the vacuum cleaner before using the mop. That way, you won’t have to deal with large debris on the floor.
In terms of cleaning the actual mop head, you can either put it in the washing machine or wash it by hand in the sink. Either works as long as you let it air dry afterward!
Cost and Pricing Information
The AIPER Steam Mop retails for $69.99, which makes it one of the more affordable options on Amazon. At the time of this writing, there’s also a coupon that you can use that’ll let you save an extra $10, bringing the total to $59.99. And as always, shipping is free if you purchase it from Amazon. The same with returns.
For those who are interested in buying extra mop pads, AIPER does sell them in their Amazon shop. You can get a two-pack for $8.99, which works out to be a little under $5 each. Aside from that, there really aren’t any other accessories that you’ll need! Remember, you can just use tap water; there’s no need to get distilled water or anything like that.
The AIPER steam mop can be used to clean and sanitize hardwood, laminate, linoleum, carpet, and more. Not only does it come with a telescoping handle, but it allows for swivel steering as well, which makes maneuvering it that much easier. They also provide you with two mop pads so that you’ll have one extra. When you’re done mopping, just give it a quick clean in the sink with water and soap. Alternatively, you can put it in the washing machine. Keep in mind, however, that the mop only has one steam setting. That is, you can’t control the amount of steam that comes out of the machine. The pads also have a tendency of becoming loose or falling off. If you can look past those things, however, it’s a decent mop.
